• Realism/Immersion – How well does the film draw the viewer into the story? By definition, Found Footage films are designed to be “real.”
• Reason for Filming – Does the film provide a good and believable reason for a film-length’s worth of footage?
• Plausible Plot – Does the plot make sense and how unique and creative is the storyline?
• Cinematography – Does the cinematography look spontaneous and flawed as found footage should be? Choreographed camera angles and having the focus and characters always in-frame reduce believability and realism..
• Acting – Does the acting come across as spontaneous and unstaged?
